About Port Lake Worth Beach, FL
Lake Worth Beach is a city in Florida located along the Atlantic Ocean and U.S. Highway 1, approximately 10 miles (16 km) south of West Palm Beach.
The population was 42,219 at the 2020 census, making it one of the vibrant coastal communities in Palm Beach County. Lake Worth Beach was originally settled in the early 1900s and developed as a resort town known for its scenic lagoon, historic neighborhoods, and strong sense of community. The city takes its name from the Lake Worth Lagoon, which runs along its eastern boundary and was named after General William J. Worth.
The area was incorporated as a city in 1913 and grew steadily throughout the 20th century, known early on for its beachside pier, Mediterranean Revival architecture, and artistic culture. In 2019, the city officially changed its name to Lake Worth Beach to highlight its direct access to the ocean and its popular public beach. Over the years, the community has continued to evolve into a dynamic, diverse coastal destination that blends small-town charm with urban convenience.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.1 square miles (18.3 km²), of which 5.9 square miles (15.3 km²) is land and 1.2 square miles (3.0 km²) is water.

Frequently Asked Questions
One of the most common questions we receive is about construction timelines. For a standard custom pool build in Lake Worth Beach, the typical timeframe is 8-12 weeks from permit approval to completion. However, this can vary based on several factors including pool size, complexity of design, weather conditions, and the permit process with local authorities.
The process begins with an initial consultation where we discuss your vision and evaluate your property. We then create detailed designs and submit permit applications to Lake Worth Beach building authorities. Once permits are approved, excavation begins, followed by steel installation, plumbing and electrical work, shotcrete application, tile and coping installation, deck construction, and final finishing. Throughout each phase, inspections ensure everything meets Florida building codes and safety standards.
Weather can impact timelines, especially during Florida's rainy season. However, our experienced team knows how to work efficiently and adapt to conditions to minimize delays. If you're adding complex features like grottos, multi-level designs, or extensive outdoor kitchens, additional time should be expected. We provide realistic timelines upfront and keep you updated on progress throughout your Lake Worth Beach pool construction project.
Pool construction costs vary significantly based on size, shape, features, and site conditions. A basic rectangular pool will cost less than a freeform design with multiple curves and angles. Additional features like waterfalls, fire features, spas, tanning ledges, beach entries, and automated systems increase the overall investment. The quality of finishes—including tile, coping, and decking materials—also impacts pricing.
Site-specific factors in Lake Worth Beach can affect costs as well. Properties with difficult access may require special equipment. Soil conditions, tree removal, grading needs, and utility relocations can add to the scope of work. At RPD Custom Pools, we provide detailed estimates that account for all aspects of your project so there are no surprises. We believe in transparent pricing and work within your budget to create the best possible pool for your investment.
We keep everyone informed from our CRM/PMS tool “Buildertrend.” From what we know, we are the only local Pool builder that uses a CRM/PMS tool that helps us keep track of your project to stay on budget, on-time, and informed of everything that is happening when our crews are there. The greatest thing is that you, the client, has access to this platform for free, and its easy to use from your computer or mobile device. You’ll be able to see your progress billing, make payments, review our daily logs from our crews onsite, track the progress/schedule of your project, submit warranties, and even finance your project through this platform. Every customer that has used Buildertrend has had a great experience!
Once we get the contract signed and get the “Pre-Construction” phase started, we will set up a time for us to meet in our office and review all the materials we offer that fall into the budget and/or any material you may be interested in upgrading. We have a wide variety of suppliers that give us samples of Marble and Travertine stone from Turkey & Italy. We have wide range of glass tile to highlight your pools waterline, features, and steps. Lastly, we have pool plaster finish samples from SGM Florida Gem, PebbleTec, and WetEdge. It can be daunting, but we are here to guide you through process and help make the right decision!
In our contract, we will provide you with a comprehensive breakdown of the schedule of values at each phase. We break it down into 6 payments: (~30-35%) Deposit, (~25 – 30%) Gunite Draw, (10 – 15%) Plumbing Draw, (10 – 15%) Hardscape Draw, (3 – 5%) Plaster Draw, and ( 2 – 5%) Final Draw. These terms are based on the complexity, features, securing of materials, and are subject to change. If a Change Order should arise through-out the project, these are due 100% at signing.
Congratulations! You are almost there! Just like any project, there will always be a few items needing to be punched out & addressed. In gathering this list, your project manager will walk the job with you to review the Pool, the hardscaping (if applicable), and the operation of the Pool Equipment to see what needs to be done. Also, during this time, we will engage a Pool Service technician to get the Pool started up for the first 28-days. This is the normal timeframe for the new finish to cure and will be based on your selected finish. At the completion of the start-up, it is highly recommended that you continue service for at least 1 year with the technician.
All warranties are made through the manufacturers of the equipment, plaster, and setting materials supplied. We offer a 1-year workmanship warranty on our work, but we have the reputation of coming out beyond that to keep our customer satisfied.
